extreme art on the common

Being June, our collective memories might expect lovely sunny days, but that’s not quite the reality today.  A brief patch of sunshine this morning is being followed by grey cloud and the promise of more rain and winds. It’s only because we’re moving towards that annual extreme (weather) art event on Harpenden Common.

Art on the Common in Harpenden is an annual event where local artists show off their work, and a commission on any sales go to the nominated charity.  This year I’m delighted to be sharing a gazebo with Sue Wookey (we’ll also be working together for Open Studios later in the year).  I’ve heard tales of extreme weather in previous years so I’m keeping fingers and toes crossed that we can spend time with visitors, not bailing out the rain …

But I digress. Whether you’re planning to take in Harpenden Discovery Day, visit artists or indeed had no particular plans for the weekend, why not brave whatever the weather throws us and take shelter under our roof? We’d be really pleased to talk to you about our work, the weather or wherever else the conversation takes us.  Please drop by, don’t forget to say that you’ve seen a mention here, and remember that we’re supporting Cancer Research UK
